Bringing Solar Projects to Life.

Shannon Energy are working with Obton A/S to deliver up to 1,000 MW of renewable energy in Ireland by 2030, providing enough power for up to 200,000 homes. Our goal is to assemble a diverse portfolio of projects that will provide a supply of solar-generated electricity for many years to come. We are now constructing the first projects that were awarded a tariff under the RESS1 auction. These five projects, totaling 42 MWp have been withdrawn from RESS and converted into a Corporate PPA with a global customer. Our second milestone was secured in 2023 with Planning Permission granted for a 108 MW solar project in Kildare. We now have a Grid Offer for this Project from Eirgrid  with a target connection date of Q4 2029.

For our third milestone, we still await Planning Permission for a superb 100 MWp project in Meath which is delayed again.

What We Do

Shannon Energy specialises in utility scale solar projects. Together with our fund partners we acquire and develop solar projects in our target markets in Ireland, and mainland Europe. We put these projects through the appropriate Tariff Auction process (RESS in Ireland) or we secure a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)for the generated power.
